GRICU’s PhD School 2021 is organized in virtual mode due to the ongoing SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. It is the first time in the history of GRICU and, as in our DNA, every challenge has to be converted in a great opportunity.
The Organizing Committee had and is having a huge effort to provide the best virtual venue to all the students and participants, although sudden malfunctions and connection problems can always occur; please, be patient in such cases, a team of expert technicians is ready to handle every general, local or personal issue.
The platform adopted for the school, provided by Politecnico di Milano, is the CISCO Webex platform. It has been selected among several possibilities to ensure stability, professional approach and wide participation.
Up to 1000 simultaneous connections are possible and, again, being forced to organize the school in virtual mode, it is offering the opportunity to enlarge the venue from the traditional participation od Ph.D. and Post-Doc students only to M.Sc. students interested in digitalization.
The virtual venue is therefore conceived as an in-person event, with 4 rooms, one per day, and 4 contributions each (link to the Program). Statistics and feedback from the participants will support the Organizing Committee to improve the virtual (or blended) mode for the future GRICU events.
It is tradition that this PhD School is organized at the facilities of the elected president and since Prof. Maurizio Masi is chairing GRICU’s Community since 2020, welcome “virtually” to Politecnico di Milano!
