The 8th European Cyclodextrin Conference marks the first edition of the award.
This award aims to recognize an emerging talent in cyclodextrin chemistry, with particular attention to the originality of research, interdisciplinary content, and potential societal impact.
The award will be presented in person by Prof. Thorsteinn Loftsson during the conference’s closing ceremony. The winner will deliver a brief oral acknowledgment, highlighting the potential future developments of their research.
Nominations will be accepted only via the form available for download on the homepage and require payment of the registration fee. Self-nominations will not be considered.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Scientific Panel. The awardee will be notified confidentially several weeks before the opening ceremony to allow time to prepare the Awardee Talk, a 10-minute presentation highlighting the future directions of their research.
The award was designed specially for the conference by a young designer who graduated from Politecnico di Milano, Chiara Selmi.
Born in Milan in 1994, Chiara Selmi is an industrial designer specialized in product design, exhibitions and creative direction. She studied design at Politecnico di Milano (IT) and at Arkitektur- og designhøgskolen i Oslo (NO). Since 2019 she began to work on her personal projects and collaborated with some professional studios with a focus on product design, exhibition and creative direction.
